  • Strapped and insulated. Old strapping thickened for strength and to providing space for insulation.

Century Home Walls

There are a lot of beautiful century homes in Guelph... with cold outer walls.

This home had solid brick walls with a bit of air-gap. Our approach was to "gut" the outer walls, make the air gap bigger with strapping, insulate, vapour barrier and drywall.

When the walls were exposed, this gave the electrician a chance to upgrade the wiring.
